RKS-NR LLC, as part of the Russian delegation, took part in the fifth meeting of the Russian-Myanmar Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation

On February 23, in Naypyitaw, an inter-ministerial Memorandum on investment cooperation was signed as part of an event that launched projects to build a deep-water port, a coal-fired thermal power plant, and an oil refinery in the Dawei Special Economic Zone.

On the Russian side, the document was signed by the Minister of Economic Development Maxim Reshetnikov, on the side of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar - by the Minister of Investment and Foreign Economic Relations Dr. Kan Zaw.

According to the parties, cooperation within the framework of the Dawei Special Economic Zone will allow Russia and Myanmar to develop new sales markets, increase investment and production.

As the General Director of RKS-NR LLC, Ildar Sharipov, said: «We, as a company that is engaged in large-scale infrastructure projects, see enormous potential in the development of the construction sector in Myanmar, as well as in the joint implementation of strategic projects on the territory of the republic, in particular, the construction of a deep-water port. It is especially worth noting the trusting relationships that have developed, the openness and interest in the outcome of our Myanmar colleagues»

The Dawei Special Economic Zone, with an area of ​​196 square kilometers, has access to the Andaman Sea. In the future, high-tech industrial zones and transport hubs, information technology zones and export processing zones are planned to be opened on the territory of the SEZ.
